Meet Mehmood Kohistani
A councillor who listens, stays accessible, and puts the community first.
Whitby has been my home for many years. I have built my career in business, public policy, and community service, but my greatest passion has always been giving back to the community that has given so much to me.
As our town continues to grow, residents deserve responsible growth, affordability, support for local businesses, better traffic and infrastructure, and a meaningful voice at Town Hall.
When something is broken, we fix it.
When taxes rise, life becomes less affordable, and people feel ignored, isolated, and left behind, it is time to try a different approach.
Priorities for Whitby
Six practical priorities drawn from conversations with residents and the campaign flyer.
Lower living costs
Put people first and make life more affordable for residents and families.
More programs
Get our community outside with more programs, activities, and welcoming public spaces.
Fix traffic
Plan growth better and improve the roads and infrastructure West Whitby relies on.
Safer parks
Improve park safety and support better wildlife management, including concerns about coyotes.
Your taxes, your voice
Create more opportunities for meaningful public input before major decisions are made.
Give back to Whitby
Big corporations that profit from Whitby should contribute fairly to the community.
